Experts in the Field of Optotechnology Look Forward to Optatec 2024 as an Industry Highlight
Preparation for the highly specialised top event for everyone involved in the exploration of light is running at full bore: the 16th Optatec international trade fair for optical technologies, components and systems will be held at its traditional venue in Frankfurt from the 14th through the 16th of May, 2024. Manufacturers and users will meet in person to discuss optics, image processing, new technologies, manufacturing processes and machines. For three days, the highly specialised, international leading trade fair will inspire optics fans from a diverse range of industries and countries. More than half of the exhibitors journey to the trade fair from outside of Germany.
Optatec is known around the world as the leading trade fair in the field of optical manufacturing technologies. It’s held regularly once every two years and serves as the ultimate meeting place for the optics and image processing sectors. Nowhere else do international experts, manufacturers and users meet in such a focused manner as at Optatec. At the moment, roughly five months before the trade fair opens, booking levels are already exceeding the number of exhibitors who participated at the event in 2022. The large proportion of exhibitors from outside of Germany – roughly 54% – is also noteworthy.
Optatec has anchored itself firmly within the industry thanks to its explicit range of products for the development, production and utilisation of optical components, optomechanics, optoelectronics, fibre optics, fibre-optic cables, laser components and digital microscopy, as well as processing machines and manufacturing systems for the production of optics. Optatec is the meeting place for specialists: a highly interested expert audience meets up with highly specialised exhibitors, around 50% of whom traditionally come from outside of Germany. Exhibitors and visitors benefit from its thematic exclusivity, its high degree of technical orientation and its precise targeting of specific groups.
The trade fair format is focussed on Optatec’s highly practical concept with direct, pragmatic user benefits. Roughly 250 exhibitors will present practical solutions in light-flooded hall 3.1 on 4500 square metres of exhibition floor space and engage in personal dialogues with their target groups. Visiting the trade fair is convenient at the exhibition centre, which is located at ground level and easily accessible via direct rapid-transit railway connections. As a result, production and quality assurance managers, as well as system integrators, take advantage of Optatec as an information platform and key trade fair for the optotechnology and image processing sector. “Here at Optatec, light is at the centre of attention,” explains project manager Fabian Krüger from trade fair promoters P.E. Schall. “The study of light, new insights and discoveries, new processes, new equipment and new end products – Optatec showcases all of this in an impressive manner. It’s the premier event for future topics in the field of new technologies, new manufacturing processes and new machines for optotechnology.”
Exhibitors Meet Their Target Groups Here
High levels of internationalism and top technologies are good arguments for expert visitors to spend a day at the trade fair in Frankfurt. Users of optics and other interested parties come to Optatec from all industry sectors such as robotics and automation technology, laser technology, the automotive industry, aviation and aerospace, medical technology and medical imaging, as well as lighting technology. As a result, it’s the ideal setting for exhibitors to showcase their new products. Research and science also take advantage of Optatec as a communication platform covering all aspects of photonics.
The topics presented at Optatec are becoming more and more important in all industrial and non-industrial sectors. Driven by growing quality requirements, as well as increasing levels of automation, digitalisation, miniaturisation and the use of autonomous systems, optical technologies are gaining significance and are indispensable in many areas of life. A small but exceptional booming field – optotechnology and image processing will play a key role in shaping the future. The invitation is open and the optotechnology industry is looking forward to welcoming interested expert visitors to the 16th Optatec in Frankfurt from the 14th through 16th of May, 2024.
